The main focus for this lesson was "gerunds". A gerund is a verb+ing (動詞) that is used as a noun (名詞). For example, the gerund form of "learn" is "learning".
e.g. I like reading soccer magazines.
I am really into making movies for YouTube.
I don't like eating oily food everyday.

BE CAREFUL!!
A common mistake is with the word "interesting" versus "interested".
"I'm interesting" - I would never say this. You are talking about yourself. (面白い)
"It is interesting" - I would say this when I am talking about something. (面白い)
"I am interested" - I have an interest in something, but not saying what it is. (興味がある)
"I am interested in learning about the Apple iMac" - (興味がある)
"The iMac is interesting" - (面白い)

This is my story.
I love playing and watching sports. It is part of Australia's culture. I started swimming when I was young, maybe 4 years old. This may not be young now, but it was then. I have three brothers, so I started playing cricket when I was around 4 years old too. I played very often. I love watching rugby. There are two types of rugby - rugby union (in Japan) and rugby league (not in Japan). I played rugby union when I was at high school, but I have never played rugby league. However, I love watching rugby league. I follow my home team every week. I will show you a little video on the New Zealand "haka". The national team performs this ceremonial war dance before they play international games. It is not only for battles, there are also haka for welcoming people to a certain area in New Zealand. However, here is an example of high school students performing a haka before their 1st XV rugby team (the top team) played a game. Finally, I really enjoy watching the Ironman and Ironwoman series. No, this is not the Marvel comic superhero. I dreamed of being an ironman when I was young, because I spent a lot of time swimming at the beach. I hope you enjoy the highlights.
